Interests

I play in a few recreational sports leagues in soccer, basketball, and ice hockey. I am also an avid pro-sports fan and consider myself an awards season film buff. I also enjoy cooking, hiking, skiing, and travel.

Why did you choose UCLA for Residency?

The people, the location, and the diversity of training sites. LA is home for me, so being able to train near my family, in a city that I love and give back to my community is a dream come true. During my away rotation at UCLA it was clear that there was a strong sense of camaraderie among the residents and faculty and everyone shared a passion for learning and sharing knowledge. The residents could not speak more highly of the relationships they built and the value of their diverse clinical experiences at Reagan and Olive View. By the end of the rotation I realized there was no better place to train in Emergency Medicine.

What is your favorite place to visit/thing(s) to do in/memory from living in LA? If you have never lived here before, what are you most excited about?

You can never get tired of the abundance of activities and experiences available to you in LA and SoCal. My favorite activities include anything outdoors: hiking, skiing, soccer, ocean swimming and sailing. I’m looking forward to exploring more of the art and culture the city has to offer with a wine tasting or two along the way. Also, the food in LA is second to none and when sports inevitably return I’m eager to see my favorite teams in person once again.

What are your areas of interest within EM or future career plans?

My primary interests are in Global Health, Healthcare Systems Management and Public Policy.

Where would we find you if not in the department?

Driving up to Mammoth
