The UCLA Combined Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine Residency Program is the oldest combined Internal Medicine-Emergency Medicine Program in the United States and the only such program west of the Mississippi River. The program is a rigorous five-year training program leading to board eligibility in both Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine. Graduates have gone on to leadership roles in academic and community medicine. Successful candidates have a genuine interest in both fields and desire to be the next generation of leaders in the house of medicine.
